Mini-reunion.

Tuesday night, Steph called to let me know that a high school reunion of sorts was occurring down at a wine bar on Lark Street, so I put on some jeans (I’ve practically been living in these fleece pants of late — so warm and comfy!) and headed downtown. I found parking on cobbled Chestnut Street, and walked the few blocks to the wine bar next to the Daily Grind. I headed inside, and through a near rabbit warren of twisting rooms to the second floor, where Aaron Meda was behind the counter and a group of friends, some of whom I’d not seen in five years or so, were seated around a large table with glasses of wine. There was a round of hugs — Aaron, Steph, Erin, Jess, Bart, Adam, and eventually Evan when he had closed up at the Grind — and much conversation and updating of the latest news. It ended up being a lovely evening, even more so for the surprise, for I honestly was not expecting to see even half these people during my visit home. Fortunately, I have new contact information for everyone, so perhaps these little run-ins will be less infrequent in the future. Ben Gold even stopped by for a while. Academy flashbacks galore! (PS: DC folk especially, check out Adam’s band!}
Tomorrow I head to Boston for another reunion of a different sort: seeing all the folks I used to see almost daily, but for whom it has now been four months since our last visit. We’re looking to ring in 2006 in style!
Albany folk: thank you. Boston folk: I will see you soon!

  1. It is, as usual, the light level, my hatred of the flash on this camera (I did take a couple of pics with it but it made people look awful), and people’s unwillingness to sit still while i try to capture candid shots.

  2. Whoa day! I haven’t seen Steph since, oh, autumn of my first M.Eng year. Hope all is well with her… is she still in NY?
