Some things are best left in the past.

From the minutes of the Cornell University 4-H Club, November 8, 1950:

…the dance will be November 18. The theme will be Sadie Hawkins. Admission will be one cent per inch waistline plus tax.

I’m sure there’s something to be learned from the fact that dance revenues amounted to $5.72, but I’ll leave that to the cliometricians. If only we had the attendance…
