Today’s archive gem:
Body-regulating foods.—The regulators in the body correspond to the poker and the dampers in stirring up and keeping regulated a good fire. There must be fuel, of course, but very soon the fire would become choked and would not burn if it were not stirred up. If it were not regulated, there would first be too much heat and then not enough. In the same way the body machinery would become clogged and sluggish and would even stop, were it not given the proper regulating foods.
Best description of constipation I’ve come across lately.
