Deslating.

On the building opposite my study room, workmen are removing slates from the roof, and dumping them into a large bin that is positioned on a crane at roof level. There seems to be no effort to save or do anything with the slates they are removing, as they are simply throwing them haphazardly. There is a big crash every time they toss a load into the bin.

My two hopes: that they are planning on reusing the slates for something, and that they are planning on replacing the roof with a new slate one. The deslating process is kind of disheartening, but I’d love to see reslating in action.
